PETALING JAYA: Cheras and Port Klang are now the two areas in the country with unhealthy air quality readings registering API readings of 107 and 138 respectively.
Open burnings have been detected in parts of Sepang district and the Johan Setia area in Kuala Lumpur.

As at 11am Friday, the Department of Environment found that 30 other areas recorded moderate API readings while 18 locations had good API readings.
Other areas close to heading into the unhealthy quality range of between 101 and 200 include Shah Alam (95), Petaling Jaya (92) and Kajang (97).
As of noon, visibility in Subang and the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) was at a low of 4km. Petaling Jaya recorded visibility readings of 2km at 9am which later improved to 5km at 12pm.
According to a KLIA spokesperson, the airport was monitoring the situation but added that there was no cause for concern as of now.
